This afternoon the responded for a report of a garbage truck on fire on Sunrise Highway in N. Great River. The garbage truck driver determined that it was the load that was on fire and was able to dump it in a parking lot off the highway. Crews from EIFD worked on knocking down the fire with assistance from West Sayville and Islip Terrace FD.

This afternoon the responded for a report of a vehicle fire at Commack Towing on Laurel Rd in E. Northport. First in scene was 2-10-31 who advised he had an involved auto behind a locked gate. Responding with in minutes from HQ was Engine 2-10-6 who deployed a handling and quickly knocked down the fire, Chief 2-10-32 lead operations and had additional units check the near by structure for extention. East Northport FD responded with 3 engines, Ladder, and Fire Police, all units were under the command of 2-10-31.

they say…. Photos from working fire yesterday. Fire was deep@in a commercial unit with members having to make a long stretch. Truck Companies had limited space to set up also making it more complicated but they got the job done. 📸

Earlier today responding to a working house fire on Haab Street the west side of the . First on scene was Chief 1-2-32 who transmitted the working fire, responding units quickly went to work attacking the fast moving fire. Mutual aid assistance was provided by & . Also on scene Suffolk County PD 1st Pct, TOB Fire Marshal, American Red Cross and SC Fire Marshal K9 Unit. 📸

Earlier this week the North Babylon Fire Company responded to a working house fire in the West Babylon section of their response area. The was alerted for mutual aid along with the & Company. Due to the fire location being so close to a W. Babylon station Engine 1-9-6 was first due and made the initial fire attack. N. Babylon Fire Co. Engine 1-8-3 dropped LDH supply line from the hydrant to 1-9-6 and E. Farmingdale Ladder took the front of the building. Crews worked quickly to knock down the fire. During overhaul a firefighter operating on a lower roof started falling though when a alert WBFD Lt. made a heads up move to help the FF get off the collapsing roof by grabbing him and dragging him back though the window. The chauffeur of the ladder did quickly reposition the ladder as an additional option. No injuries reported and North Babylon Chief of Department Cullen was the Officer In Charge. 📸 AJ Ippy
