Just want to say thanks for sticking around and following along on what many looked like over the course of this winter. It was my first winter doing this and hope to do it next year. I had only an idea of what I was getting into when I applied for this, alls I had as a reference was stories from Justin/marva and Dave/Rebecca. I honestly looked up to j and m from when I first started working here in 2021. Hearing their stories and adventures from what they went through during their winters spent here. I knew from that day I wanted a chance to survive a winter in the valley. The ones before me really layed the stepping stones, as without them I would of not had a more clear view as to what a winter here pertains. The ones before me have such a vast understanding of this valley, and have a vast knowledge for these buildings, and I can only hope one day I’ll get to learn as much as what they have. I couldn’t thank them enough for their support and guidance through being a winter caretaker. It was the gnarliest winter I have faced yet, and going through it alone only made me sound more crazy to my family telling them what I was doing next. Got called crazy a lot of times but I’d rather be crazy than normal. But really it’s all of you that showed your love and support towards the valley over the winter that means something. It’s the ones that love this valley and understand it’s beauty that makes this place have such a powerful impact on others. I appreciate you all and thank y’all for sticking around for my updates in the valley. Thank you all for the support. I went into this adventure alone, but have a community of rad people that share the same love for this valley (the most beautiful valley in the world) I don’t know if I’ll be posting more through the summer season but I hope to be here again for this coming winter. Thank you all, and I’d give and a follow for updates during the season.
