“This is our first sibling photo in years (not including wedding photos). Thank you!”
Man, that one resonates with me.
I have plenty of photos with my brother from weddings, but the only recent non-wedding photo we have together is a black-and-white Polaroid Maddy took of us a couple years ago. It sits framed in my office.
Sure, siblings can drive us crazy. Most of us spent our childhood mastering the art of annoying each other. But my brother is honestly one of the best men I know, and one of the few people who truly knows me.
I’d love to have a new photo with him.
In a lot of ways, our relationship has grown deeper even though we don’t see each other nearly as much. That’s just life. Families, careers, responsibilities—they all compete for our time. But whenever we’re together, it’s like no time has passed at all. There’s an immediate sense of home.
I know no matter what happens, he’ll be there for me. And truthfully, he’s already proven that more than once.
So take Cassie’s advice—and mine.
Book the session. Take the photos.
Because it’s not just your relationship with your parents, spouse, or children that deserves to be documented. Your relationship with your siblings matters too.
One day, those photographs won’t just remind you what they looked like, but what home felt like.
