1-25-2021 Wandsnider Photography is back.

I'm Kathy Wandsnider, the photographer and I've been taking pictures for years. However Wandsnider Photography did not officially become a business until 2006. I have a passion for photography and enjoy working with people and bringing out the best in them. I have a small studio in my basement and do a lot of photos on location. I actually have a degree in Nursing, but decided to become a stay at

home mom when I had my first child 21 years ago. We homeschooled for a number of years and when the kids went to school and I decided to go back to work I chose to pursue photography over nursing. I have been studying different aspects of photography for years , taken a college course, classes with several photographers in Dubuque and attended many seminars and I continue to update my skills. My motto is, "Do something different!" I have ideas of my own, but encourage my clients to bring in their own ideas too. After taking a break for a few years, I realized my passion still lies in photography. In the past, my specialty was Senior portraits. With our children grown and some married with children of their own, my interests have steered toward family and children. I now specialize in family, children, engagement, and maternity photos. I am excited about this new chapter in my life.

A few days after Christmas (2020), my husband, John and I had the pleasure of doing a family photo session with our good friends Jim and Carol. What a beautiful family they have! ♥ A winter storm was brewing that day - it was actually sleeting at the time we took these pictures, but we were able to make it work. 🙂 Thanks Jim, Carol, and family for choosing us to capture these memories. ♥

Wandsnider Photography is back. After taking a break for a few years, I realized my passion still lies in photography. In the past, my specialty was Senior portraits. These little cuties are two of my grandchildren, Steven and Olivia. We did a little mini session one day last summer (2020), when I was babysitting. They don't stay still very long, so I was pleased to get this shot. I think they might be a little familiar with the camera or more likely the phone. 🙂♥

This is my beautiful niece, Kate. Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of taking her Senior pictures. Yes, it was cold! Kate did quite well though. With the assistance of my husband, John and the company of Kate's mom and brother, I think we were able to capture some unique shots [and have some fun along the way]. Thanks for the privilege, Kate! 🙂♥

This is my son and his wife, and their little guy, Lincoln. My husband and I had fun doing this session. Lincoln was getting a little wore out toward the end, but I think we did alright. Love this family!
