I'm Kathy Wandsnider, the photographer and I've been taking pictures for years. However Wandsnider Photography did not officially become a business until 2006. I have a passion for photography and enjoy working with people and bringing out the best in them. I have a small studio in my basement and do a lot of photos on location. I actually have a degree in Nursing, but decided to become a stay at

home mom when I had my first child 21 years ago. We homeschooled for a number of years and when the kids went to school and I decided to go back to work I chose to pursue photography over nursing. I have been studying different aspects of photography for years , taken a college course, classes with several photographers in Dubuque and attended many seminars and I continue to update my skills. My motto is, "Do something different!" I have ideas of my own, but encourage my clients to bring in their own ideas too. After taking a break for a few years, I realized my passion still lies in photography. In the past, my specialty was Senior portraits. With our children grown and some married with children of their own, my interests have steered toward family and children. I now specialize in family, children, engagement, and maternity photos. I am excited about this new chapter in my life.
