Think back to the era when 35mm film ruled the day. Its rich history is filled with tales of closet-sized dark rooms, New York City, the stock market, + motion picture films. “The 35mm camera is for life + for people, the swift + intense moments.” There is something so nostalgic, so authentic about 35mm film. It is delicate + strong all at once. In its essence, 35 is brave + tough + full of adventure. We love it. It is who we are. An obsolete, yet enduring Pentax K1000 was passed down to our founder, dusted with time + worn with love. She was enthralled. Her love for the grit + adventure of old world journalism was ignited as she begin to tinker. She often found herself returning over + over again to a place she called home. An almost sacred spot, a vast sea of gigantic oak trees towering above, swaying in the wind, patient + wise. This craft was becoming her heartbeat. And those old photographs, that were just moments then, are now memories of growth, beauty, + unfolding. It was under those oaks, drenched in endless wonder + film at her hip, that she learned to crave imperfection, to crave vulnerability, to crave honesty.
