🎥🎞️🍿*LINK IN BIO* • 12th REEL FILM FESTIVAL • NOW STREAMING ON YOUTUBE: The annual festival took place on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at the Cranford Theater, Cranford, NJ. A crowd of 220 were in attendance for this 2-hour SOLD OUT event. 31 original short films in the genres of Narrative, Documentary, Experimental and Animation were screened. Message to celebrate our 12th anniversary premiere from Anthony Anderson • Actor - The Departed (2006), Transformers (2007), Scream 4 (2011), Law & Order, Black-ish. The 12th Reel Film Festival screened alongside Project Hail Mary, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Michael, and Devil Wears Prada 2. The Digital Film program would like to say thank you to all the Parents/Guardians/Faculty/Admin for all their support this year & to everyone who attended the SOLD OUT screening. Special Thanks to Doreen Sayegh (Owner/Manager) of the historic Cranford Theater for addressing the crowd at the beginning of the festival, as well as Kevin (Manager) and the entire staff at Cranford Theater for making us feel at home & allowing us to host our annual event. We will be back next year (2027) at the Cranford Theater continuing this incredible tradition, screening at a professional independent movie theater.  Also, special shout-out to our Film Alum throughout the years who keep coming back supporting this festival, our students/program - it truly means the world. Official Selection • High School Category . The Digital Film program would
like to say congratulations to Josias Ortiz for winning BEST FILM AWARD &
BEST ACTOR AWARD - HIGH SCHOOL. Festival took place at The Vogel &
Basie Center Cinemas in Red Bank, NJ on April 25, 2026 . The 2026 festival
marks the Basie Center’s ninth annual emerging filmmaker competition,
which has attracted creators from all 21 Garden State counties, as well
‘Jersey-based filmmakers attending schools around the globe. In this time,
the state has become a hotbed for the film industry; new tax incentives have
planted countless productions on state soil – from A Complete Unknown, the
Oscar-nominated Bob Dylan biopic filmed partially at the Count Basie Center
itself, to Steven Spielberg’s celebrated take on West Side Story – while
several studios have announced plans to amplify their presence in the state.
Netflix, the streaming giant, is in the early stages of building a massive lot of
studios and production facilities just minutes from the Basie Center campus.

EXPLORING CINEMA CAREERS - 24th Garden State Film Festival 2026: Seniors of the Digital Film program participated in the Exploring Cinema Careers - Film & Television Industry Demonstration at the Brookdale Collins Arena, Brookdale Community College during the week of Garden State Film Festival . Keynote speaker four-time Emmy Winner - Makeup Artist Joseph Cola (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), demonstrated Special FX Makeup - with Josias Ortiz (Senior) being selected as a participant. The goal of the seminar was to gain professional insight for a proven pathway into the industry. The 24th GSFF took place March 26-29, 2026. For more information please visit - gsff.org. 24th GARDEN STATE FILM FESTIVAL 2026: Congratulations to OUR DIENASTY by Josias Ortiz (Senior), TRAY by Traysten L.
