Here's some interesting information about yesterdays post of North Pond and South Pond in Woodstock Maine!
As a drone pilot it's very important to check the airspace where you intend to fly prior to launching. This particular flight was my first time flying near a MTR (Military Training Route) while legal to fly here, it requires a lot of attention to details when it comes to checking for any TFRs (Temporary Flight Restrictions) as well as keeping your eyes and ears open for any air traffic.
Two methods I use to check airspace is a website/ app called Air Control, this shows information that applies to drone operations, it's a quick and easy way to see what kind of airspace you're in and if you need to get clearance to fly there. The other one I check is a website called Skyvector, this website shows the Aeronautical Charts that manned aircraft uses, these show the types of airspace, MTRs, highly populated areas, locations of tall towers & their height, but most importantly the website gives you quick access to any TFRs.
This is just a small look into the things I, as a commercial drone pilot have to look into before I can fly to bring all of you great pictures!
