One couple will win:

- A 30-minute mini session from Stately Photos to document one little part of your night together

- $25 towards dinner at your favorite restaurant in East Aurora

- The Date Night Package from Aurora Theatre ( including two adult admissions, $10 in concession bucks, and a large candy)

Engagement sessions aren’t “extra.” They’re the one moment in your wedding season that actually feels unhurried.

No timeline. No guests waiting. No pressure to host. Just the two of you.

And here’s why they matter so much to me:

✨ You get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day even arrives.

✨ We get to build trust together — so when you’re standing at the altar, you already know what to expect from me.

✨ You get to make this season completely your own and get creative with it.

You aren’t learning how to pose, you’re learning how your story feels when you’re fully present together. And to me, that is everything.

If you want your engagement session to feel like a date instead of a photoshoot, here is what I recommend.

I had so much fun with Shane and Maria this past weekend at the Utica train station.

We spent about two hours together, and it truly felt like the blink of an eye just because of how easy and natural their chemistry is. Nothing felt rushed. We got to explore THE WHOLE STATION and just take our time TOGETHER.

By the end of it, they were completely in their own world. Laughing, holding onto each other, kissing like no one else was around. That is always the moment I love noticing the most during a session.

If you want your session to feel like this, here are a few things that make the biggest difference.

First, wear something that feels like you. Not something you think you are “supposed to wear” for photos. Maria chose outfits she felt confident and comfortable in, and it showed in everything.

Second, try something new together. A new location, a new experience, somewhere you have never been before. This was their first time exploring the train station like this, and it made everything feel a little more exciting and natural.

And third, treat it like a date. Not a task on your wedding checklist. Walk around, talk to each other, laugh, and take your time. I will guide you when you need it, but the best moments always happen in between.

How do you choose just a few from a session that felt like this?

Genuine. Loved. Carefree. Completely in sync with each other and somehow, completely unaware of how beautiful that is to witness through my camera ( my eyes).

These two showed up with muddy feet, their puppy Frank, and an openness that made this whole session feel less like a shoot and more like being let into something sacred. They shared their story with me. They laughed at each other’s jokes. They whispered things I couldn’t hear.

And somewhere between the golden light and those breathtaking drone shots (from ), I truly believe they forgot I was there…and that’s when everything became so beautiful.

Tess and Dakota, you are the definition of a dream couple. Not because everything was perfect, but because everything was real. The love in the way you look at each other? You can’t fake that. You can’t pose that. You just have to be lucky enough to be there when it happens.

They cry when it hits them.
They wipe their eyes with the back of their hand.

They stand in the middle of the aisle and take the whole thing in like it’s the biggest thing they’ve ever seen. (Because it just might be!)

And then I look across the room and see the same posture, same awe, same feeling… just thirty years later.

Watching that echo move through a room, the littlest ones and the oldest ones feeling it exactly the same way. I don’t have words for what it’s like to witness.

These are the moments that matter most to me. The ones that are happening all around you & the ones that you might not catch in the middle of living it.

That’s what I’m there for.
That’s what I don’t take lightly

What you actually need in a wedding photographer

Not just someone who shows up with a camera…
but someone who knows when to guide you
and when to completely get out of the way.

Someone who can read the room before the moment happens, who protects the space for your day to unfold
without ever making it feel like a photoshoot.

Because the photos you’ll come back to years from now
won’t be the perfectly posed ones…

They’ll be the ones that felt like YOU.

I’m Olivia.

I grew up surrounded by photo albums and home videos my parents made sure we’d never lose.

And somewhere along the way I realized
it wasn’t missing out I was afraid of.

It was forgetting.

That fear is what brought me to Ithaca College to study film and documentary work. It’s what made me start Stately Photos before I even graduated. And it’s what shapes every single wedding I photograph today.

Because I believe the real story comes from what is actually happening not from what you stage.

Feeling comfortable, confident, and fully present on your wedding day shouldn’t be a luxury.

It should be a nonnegotiable.
