This freezing cold day felt like the perfect time to share that I’m now booking summer (June - August) sessions for the high school class of 2025! 🥳

It’s been a long time coming and Megan & Alec are finally MARRIED 💍🥂

So happy that my last wedding was such a special one to me - Megan and I grew up down the street from each other & getting to reconnect during such a special season in her life was the biggest blessing and the best way to close this chapter!

Call me crazy, but I’ve never really minded the time change and the sun setting early 🤯

After a while, I do miss the longer days, but at least at the beginning I like how cozy it feels & have noticed I spend a lot more time reading/doing leisure things I enjoy! It’s just easier to turn work and productivity off once it’s dark outside - I guess as a photographer the sun dictates when your working hours are, so maybe that’s why? 🤪

❗️MAJOR update: RPW Photography will be taking a break from the wedding world in 2024.

This has been something I’ve been considering for a while, and having our baby on the way early next year just seemed like the perfect nudge for me to listen to what I’ve been feeling!

This business always has been (and always will be) a one-woman show - all the shooting, editing, and actual running of the business is done exclusively by me on top of working a full-time job. So it’s basically run entirely on my free time, and while I love it, I really want and need some of my free time back 😅

So why are weddings specifically being cut next year? Weddings are high-pressure commitments with significant workload & correlated mental health implications. I love being there celebrating and serving brides and grooms SO much, but when I get home and the reality of the editing hits me, I have always struggled turning work off & feeling like I have to “earn” my free time by not having ANY outstanding work before I can take a break. When you’re delivering hundreds of photos per wedding, you can see where this becomes problematic 🤪

With bringing a baby into the mix and figuring out my new role of mom next year, I want to make sure I have the time, energy, and mental health to fully commit to being present for my family in the best ways possible! In practice, this looks like freeing up my weekends and most of my free time during the week by no longer committing to photograph weddings (at least for this calendar year).

You WILL still catch me photographing high school seniors, college graduates, and long-time family clients, but in a smaller capacity. I’ll even continue second shooting weddings for some of my dear photographer friends to keep myself sharp since I still have no idea what 2025 holds! 😉

TL;DR - Weddings are on temporary hiatus for 2024. I will still be working with high school/college seniors and returning families as usual 😊

I’m so thankful for all of you and your support 🫶🏼

Moved my usual Christmas mini sessions up to the fall so I don’t have to waddle around like a penguin in the snow super pregnant 🤪 I love seeing these families year after year!

The outfits my girl Zoe picked out for her senior pics reflected her personal style SO well and made her photos feel like such a good reflection of her. 😗🤌🏼 She is an aspiring author and I kept joking with her that she needs to use these photos for headshots in her first book (kind of kidding kind of not) 🤪

I’m also always a little biased to including at least one outfit in your session with a skirt or dress that has a little bit of movement to it - it is such an easy way to add some more depth to your photos and interest to posing!
