While on our recent mission trip to Nicaragua, I spent nearly all of my time behind the camera filming and taking pictures, so I didn’t really get to spend much time actually ministering to people by way of laying hands on people and praying over them. Naturally being behind the camera, there are only a couple pictures of me from the trip. This is one of them. This is the story behind this photo.
One night of our trip, a young lady from El Salvador who was at the event was documenting and taking photos on her phone. She approached me at the end of the night and said she had a picture she would like to share with me, so she air dropped me this picture. After recieving the picture she said she would like to give me a word of encouragement, she basically said “the Lord uses everyone in different ways in ministry and every part of ministry matters. Jesus honors the ones behind the scenes that don’t get seen just as much as the ones who are being seen from the other side of the camera.”
This word stuck with me. I know that the body of Christ is made of different parts and they all have their function. And I don’t really care about being on the photo side of the camera anyways. But it is easy to feel insignificant when you see miracles take place and see the Lord use other people as a vessel to release the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord has been working in me thru this simple word of encouragement as I’ve been working on editing photos and videos from our trip and has basically spoke to me that, “the ministry that was done while on the ground in Nicaragua wasn’t the end of the ministry that started there. And that the work of my part of the ministry is what would allow the work that started on the trip to continue to work in many more lives, not only in Nicaragua, but in America as well.”
Thank you Lord for giving me the honor of being the one behind the scenes. Thank You Holy Spirit for allowing me to be Your vessel and giving me the ability to be used in this ministry that You’ve called me to.
