Highly social they are usually found in small flocks or family groups most often traveling by hoping along branches. Relatively small for toucans they measure approx. 12 to 16 inches in length.

Scarlet Ibises, famous for their brilliant scarlet plumage from a diet rich in carotenoid pigments found in crustaceans. They inhabit tropical wetlands, mangroves and mud flats primarily in northern South America and parts of the Caribbean. They live, feed and nest in large colonies as they are highly social, gregarious birds.
