Talk to your baby in labor.

Don’t forget you are working together and your baby is an active participant during this process.

Something I LOVED and I’ll always remember from this birth, was the amazing connection between mom and baby. She talked and encouraged him the whole time.

“Yes, baby boy! You’re doing a good job! I love you baby boy!”

Not only was this the sweetest thing ever, but it was a very helpful coping mechanism.

Our minds are a very powerful part of the labor and birth process. Positive self talk to yourself and your baby is a powerful, non medical way you can increase your oxytocin, boost your endorphins and encourage the flow of all the good labor hormones.

As a birth photographer and doula, I’ve seen and heard firsthand how C-section births can be overlooked in conversations about empowered birth. But there is so much room for support, beauty, and choices—even in the OR. To every c-section family, whether this was your first or last choice, you are no less than extraordinary and I’m honored to celebrate you.

Here’s what I hope to see more in the future for my area 🤍 Doulas being regularly welcomed to support surgical births 🤍 Lowering the drape and so parents can more clearly watch and greet their newborn  🤍 Access to maternal-assisted C-sections 🤍 Immediate Skin-to-skin and golden hour honored just as routinely as other births

Birth is raw, fierce, holy and sacred.

Sharing some favorites that remain fresh in my mind long after I packed my camera up and said goodbye. The radiance of a new mother, the way the light hits fresh baby skin, the embrace of a tender new father, the relief of being on the other side and the overwhelming love and strength.

These moments stay with me and deserve to be remembered.

From August and the remainder of 2025, I have space on my calendar for one more birth a month. If your baby’s birth is coming up let’s talk about how you want to feel and celebrate this day. Your story matters, let’s make it beautiful!

📸 Families Expecting This Fall/Early Winter – I have an opportunity for you!

I have a gap in my schedule and am looking for the perfect person for this elevated session. In exchange, I can offer a special package on a birth or a golden hours session.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a creative pull to explore and grow. I want to focus on some more moody, dramatic and detailed, close-up shots. I attempt a little here and there but typically in a birth, things are moving fast and I’m keenly aware there’s no “do-overs.” It can be tempting to stick with what I know to create consistent, professional results without missing a moment. This is why people hire me after all.

AND, I love learning and trying new things. As a birth photographer it can be hard to “practice.” I can never duplicate the exact setting, subject matter and intensity that is required when I’m on the job and responding in the moment.

For this offer I’m hoping to connect with someone who wants to add a touch of artistry to their story. You can expect to have a few less photos in your gallery, but I hope to deliver some results that have more drama, more details and a bolder style. Understand that I may take a few risks, get more close up, change my settings and slow down more than my typical flow to get more experience with a different kind of style.
