In my late-night escapade through the neighboring farmland outside of town, I stumbled upon this section of corn and a road cutting through it. This puddle in the tire rut made for a great foreground element. I love the low perspective, looking up just as the corn does, to see the bright and glowing Aurora pillars.

Celestial Harvest

I couldn't resist visiting the farmlands outside of town during last night's Aurora spectacle. I've shot hay bales like these in this same field during May's Aurora showing. I love the juxtaposition of something familiar, even mundane, and representative of human life and toil like hay bales with the awe-inspiring display of the cosmos. Beware, more farm shots to come!

Fall Classic

This morning was so beautiful in the White Mountains. I toured up and down the Kancamangus, shooting so many incredible locations. But first, I stopped at the overlook above Chocorua Lake. I love this vantage point and how the lake, adorn with mist, pokes through the trees at the foot of Mt. Chocorua.

This fall has been fairly dry, which has made many of the local streams run low. Lafayette Brook is at the lowest I've seen it, but fortunately there was still a bit of flow to help this composition. This is from last Friday's wonderings in the Whites.

Last night, there was a brief aurora showing at Chocorua Lake, producing some nice pillars and range of color. The water was so calm and glasslike - love that the camera picked up some of the colors in the reflection. Unfortunately, the haze from the Canadian wildfires blanketed the horizon, muting some of the display.

Mount Zealand rises above its namesake pond in the heart of the White Mountains. I've been planning this shot for several years, and this past Thursday night, conditions were perfect for it. Such a beautiful hike!

I took an evening hike up Mt Cardigan earlier this month, just as the clouds broke to reveal the heavens above. The summit fire tower offered an inspiring foreground element, while the Milky Way aligned perfectly.
