This 360° virtual tour of the Museum of Life and Science highlights one of Durham’s gems. It’s a fantastic place to take the kids or out-of-town visitors. My personal favorite is photographing butterflies in the tropical butterfly house on a cold winter day.

I-85 Fire

Parts of this impromptu video made with “my best video camera” have been picked up by several local news outlets. Keep in mind the definition of my best video camera is the one with me at the time I need it. In this case, that was my cell phone.

The Coffin
Everyone needs something to keep their tools in; for photographers it’s usually called a photo bag or camera bag. In our house this one has the nickname of “The Coffin” and it doesn’t include any cameras. It contains dozens of strobes, speedlites, light stands and lighting modifiers that allow lighting even large scenes for the desired photographic effect. When I arrive with it, I’ve been asked if I’m planning to move in, and I have other bags for the actual cameras and lenses.
