This surprise proposal had me 😭😭😭

I don’t know who was shaking more, me or Alaina 😂

A friend asked me yesterday how I don’t cry at this and weddings. I do. Every time.

When Jorge emailed me to start planning this surprise proposal, I got so excited! They’ve been dating for 8 years and even did long distance through many of those.

We planned a spot at the Dallas Arboretum and got lucky dodging the rain. It was a perfect day.

After meeting them I literally felt like I had known them forever and not 5 minutes. After she said yes we walked around the gardens and got some fun shots.

Alaina you are literal sunshine and a joy to be around! I had so much fun with you guys and am sooooo excited for yall! Congrats!!! 💍

There’s just something so special about calving season. I love watching these first time mamas figure it out and Mother Nature take over. We’ve been blessed with a great heifer calving season so far.

I wasn’t born into this industry. My parents didn’t ranch. We were a big outdoors family, we hunted and fished and raised British labs but we didn’t have cows.

When I first got involved with the cattle industry I had no idea there were so many sectors within it. Words like cow calf, stocker and feeder.

So when I see posts saying that cattle are raised on factory farms and don’t get to eat grass or are born in feed yards I get it. Our industry is so different from other sectors of agriculture. If you don’t know any better it makes sense.

But the truth is all cattle start on a cow calf operation just like ours. These are well over 90% family owned farms and ranches. We’re like the L&D of the cattle industry.

Our cattle get to free range and graze and have plenty of pasture space to move around. Yes, even beef you buy at the grocery store is raised like this.

This is the American beef industry. This is where it all starts. And it’s an honor to be a part of it.
