One of the things I was most excited to learn in England was actually the still lifes.

Sometimes I get so used to creating in one particular way, and slowing everything down to focus on something as simple as light, shadow, shape, and texture opened up a completely different part of my creativity. These were from the very first day of the workshop, and I remember feeling SO excited while photographing them.

I’ve loved Rembrandt ever since I lived in the Netherlands. I remember wandering through the Rijksmuseum and staring at his paintings, completely mesmerized by the light. They somehow felt incredibly real and dreamlike at the same time, like you could reach out and touch them, but they belonged to another world.

Getting to play with light and shadow in that same way reminded me that photography is art just as much as painting is. That slowing down and creating simply for the sake of creating can spark something entirely new.

Such a special way to start this workshop.

After their elopement in Telluride, I met O+W at Dunton Hot Springs to capture a softer, more relaxed moment of their adventure together.

Travel Schedule 2026

She’s back! Travel Kristen needed a break real bad. But she’s rested and recharged for the journey ahead.

Traveling has always been a HUGE value of mine. 2024/25 I had to face the realization that there IS a point where traveling can feel heavy and exhausting. So 2026 Kristen is bringing her love of exploration, with boundaries and lots more rest in between 😎
