Hi Friends,
Long time no see!
Let’s get back into the swing of things with a much needed update!
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of documenting so many meaningful sessions throughout my career!
While my year didn’t end—or begin, under the best circumstances (we’ll get into that in a minute), I am still overflowing with gratitude and excitement!
I have been fully booked through April of 2026–since last November, of 2025… SHOCKING, right?!?! I remember looking back to only two years ago, when I was debating on continuing on with THIS. VERY. JOURNEY. I remember thinking to myself that I wasn’t good enough, that I was competing where I didn’t compare, that I would never be able to provide for my family in this way and that I was chasing a dream that would never form a legitimate reality… But here I am, almost two years later, a legitimate business and my schedule is almost fully booked for the better half of an entire year.
If there is anything that life has taught me, it’s taught me that not everything requires your attention—and that establishing what is worthy of it, will change your life… I pour myself into my work, just like I always have. EVERYTHING is intentional. And maybe that’s why I don’t focus much on my social media presence anymore. My business has ran solely on word of mouth, for the majority of its existence—I am beyond blessed and thankful for this. My clients come first, and I will ALWAYS prioritize finding a solution for them, VS dividing my time where it’s non-essential.
Now, for the not so great part. You know “those things” that only seem to happen to everyone else… I’m talking the crazy, the freak accidents, the absurd luck, the (hopefully) once in a lifetime occurrences.
Well, “those things” finally happened to me. Right in the middle of the busiest time of year—my editing software fully crashed on me… I lost weeks, if not months worth of work within seconds. I watched fully finished galleries, ready to deliver, literally disappear before my eyes. All of my hard work was gone.
I’ve ALWAYS feared that this would happen one day, so I was prepared in this instance, with my external hard drives and other storage devices…
My only problem was that, ALL of my edits were gone—and I was back to square one. I was able to replace this device, (and this could have just been a freak accident) but I’m not typically the type to apply for round two.
Then, we upgraded my editing software completely…
A secondary device, one that’s reliable, A SURE and steady solution to catch-up, out-perform my previous device and deliver better results… A brand new Apple iMac 24” Desktop. I knew there would be a learning curve, being that I’ve always used a Windows desktop operating system, but after days of self-diagnosing and troubleshooting, I knew the issue was deeper than that. Another defective device.
Now, 4 weeks later, 12.5 hours of actual talk time with Adobe, AT&T, Apple - Apple Support, Geek Squad and 3 in-person appointments (and counting) later, diagnostics show nothing. Progress is being made—but we are still waiting on answers.
Moving forward, the same way I always have—steady and intentional. Adapting and overcoming has always been one of my best qualities, so you can bet I rolled up my sleeves, and found a way. The work never stopped, it just looks a little different right now.
If you’ve made it this far, THANK YOU! I am incredibly grateful for the support, guidance and grace as I continue to deliver galleries! Like I said—the work NEVER stopped and we are SO close to fully catching up. I know it’s cliche—but I truly wouldn’t be here without each and every single one of you! Every session has made an impact on the Photographer that I am today and I could never ask for more! 💛
