I don't do much for portraits or grad photos because I knowingly have a very different taste for photography than most, and that doesn't align with what people would imagine when thinking grad photos. I like neutral tones, natural environments, and hints of grunge. I want things to be real, and real isn't always glamorous. But when I get someone who's vision of their photos matches mine, then let's go. Super excited to go through all of the photos from today.

Our little gymnast has some big goals to take home trophies this season. Turns out those trophies require quite a bit out of pocket for us parents, so we are hosting a fundraiser!

What are the odds!?

What are the odds that right here, right now, I would be 41 years old and working on a video project for the Carlton County Soil & Water Conservation District and while flipping through the 1,092 historical photos they supplied me and I stumble upon this.

This photo, dated December of 1996, nearly 30 years ago, features my 6th grade classmates observing a presentation from the Carlton County SWCD in our classroom. I'm not in this photo (obviously, there isn't a skinny boy with bright white hair in the frame) and I'm not sure if I was in this particular class as we had two.

But how insane is this?

How crazy is it to be doing your job, 30 years later, looking through a mound of digitized 'historical' photos and finding something so immediately and personally close to yourself?

Just wild!

Here is my chaos you are looking at.

Top screen has the entire 5-page transcript of multiple interviews for this project on the left, and my intended script for the video on the right.

Middle screen is the program monitor that displays the video footage in the project (currently an aerial shot above some cattle.)

Laptop on the bottom has the essential panels for editing audio in a major video project.

*My workstation is set up in the garage while the mother-in-law occupies our guestroom/office for a few weeks.

**Not shown, is the 6-year-old sitting in the chair behind me yapping about whatever game he is playing while home during MEA.
