This is not easy to say but there was a mass shooting at a punk show in Minneapolis on Friday night, one person died, our friend August, and another dear friend Tonio, is in the ICU.. others were injured as well..

So much is being felt over here you guys

Please donate what you can for victim support. People who were at the show are saying it’s clear that this was a hate crime against trans/queer lives

So it’s not surprising that the police and the main stream media are dragging their feet to even scratch the surface of reporting on the full implications of this attack..

I’ve been going to shows here over the summer, some of the most endearing and brave hearted people I’ve ever met are out here.. people who have offered me a lot of inclusion and love..

My heart is so fu***ng heavy right now..

I’m being asked to spread the word on this. An Anishinaabe elder is trying to get her daughter to her father at the hospital in Northern Minnesota ASAP. He’s in critical condition about 150 miles away from where they are and they need funds for the journey. Lisa is an incredibly generous water protector and consistently shows up for people experiencing homelessness in Duluth via local mutual aid channels. Let’s show her some support in this time of need. Please Venmo her a small donation if you can, even $5 goes a long way! Thank you!!

So proud of everyone who has been fighting for this victory for so long!

Community activists have been proposing and planning to transform the so called “Roof Depot” site from a toxic industrial asphalt production facility into a massive solar powered indoor urban farm and community center in the East Phillips Neighborhood of Minneapolis. After a decade of struggle a deal has finally been reached for the East Phillips Neighborhood Institute to buy the property and give the people here what they truly deserve

The past couple years have been a lot of uprooting and navigating through all kinds of pitfalls in the Great Lakes region for me. I’m starting to feel grounded again, finding a sense of placehood and new connections. Feels like a new beginning..

This Sunday come celebrate if you are in the twin cities! Block party in Cedar Field Park June 18th from 1-8pm 🎵🌻🥳

Pipeline Conference happening through zoom all weekend in Duluth! I’m out here with some great people, Indigenous leaders from Russia are here in solidarity with the people of Ukrainian along with veterans of The Longest Walk, Standing Rock and Line 3 and 5.

Feeling so grateful to be working with this powerhouse team of Anishinaabe White Earth band members up here in northern Minnesota. Good work is being done for the future of the res by paving the way for major renewable energy projects to potentially come out here, which would provide a desperately needed foundation for growth and security 🌱☀️🌎

Images from the first day of the Indigenous-led ‘Evict Enbridge’ event in Northern Michigan back in May

Canadian oil corporation Enbridge continues to pump diluted tar sands oil through the 68 year old Line 5 pipeline beneath the Straights of Mackinaw in Upper Michigan, de spite an order from Governor Gretchen Whitmer for them to cease operations

Right now the environmental activism organization OilandWaterDontMix.org () is launching a petition to - please check out my link tree for the link or head over the website and sign it - so far the Biden administration, which has already issued a number of executive orders on climate change, has not stepped in to wrangle this destructive foreign fossil fuel giant and uphold indigenous treaty rights to clean water on their lands…
