I still have an opportunity for anyone looking to hone their event photography skills, and I could use your help getting some coverage for a local event.
I'm looking for a few more volunteer photographers for the 2026 Duluth Fall Festival, September 26–27 in downtown Duluth. Unlike larger festivals like Dogwood or Yellow Daisy, the Duluth Fall Festival is a 501(c)(3) benefiting the city and local community, and is 100% driven by local volunteers—not a big corporation.
So no sales talk about this being “for exposure” or clout. This is volunteer work, plain and simple. But if you'd like a chance to work on candid photography, live performances, action shots at the 5K race, or just some environmental portraits, this event will give you plenty of opportunities to do exactly that while helping us get the coverage we need.
You don't have to commit to the whole weekend. Volunteering is arranged in 2-hour shifts, and you would only need to upload your best (family-friendly) shots to an online album after the event. If this speaks to you, you can self-register through the event’s iVolunteer portal for a time slot that works for you. And if you commit to at least 4 hours across the festival in any volunteer capacity, you'll be able to pick up an official event T-shirt.
If you're interested but have questions, our next and final official festival meeting is Thursday, August 27 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room downstairs at Duluth City Hall. Feel free to drop by, meet other volunteers and me, and find out more. Or message me directly.
