The St. Regis Chicago is a 101 story skyscraper in New Eastside Chicago. Completed in 2020, the skyscraper is the tallest building designed by a woman. When visiting the city it is hard not to recognise the striking design. The design of the building personally reminds me of the blue waters of Lake Michigan and rolling waves.

Black and white photographs from around downtown Chicago this past weekend. One of my favorite aspects of Chicago is its architecture, particularly skyscrapers constructed between World War I and World War II. Many of these skyscrapers built during this time period featured setbacks, allowing light to reach the street. I have always been drawn to skyscrapers built during this era, specifically the setbacks, which create a sense of height, drawing your eye upward toward the sky. Although many of these towers are now overshadowed by modern buildings, they still evoke a sense of height and power.
