👦🏼🐯 Does anyone else miss Calvin & Hobbes? ❤️

📰 I was feeling a little nostalgic this week, remembering all the fun I used to have on Sunday afternoons reading the latest comic from the series.. Funny how life's little pleasures are missed once they're no longer a regular part of our lives. Thankfully, these gems are preserved in books and I'm going to be intentional this weekend, spending a while savoring the humor and wisdom of Calvin & Hobbes. It's been too long.

🎞️ I find old photos are a bit this way for me too. So many memories that evoke emotion and momentary flashbacks. 📚 I have albums filled with a variety of childhood memories of my own as well as our children's that I love to revisit every now and then. 🥰 This winter, I want to begin creating some nicer albums using so that I can add my own words to the memories in the photos. I remember going through some of my grandparents' black and white photos with them and, if they hadn't been present to ask what the history was, there was no way to know. 🤷‍♀️ I'm determined to record a few stories to go along with my family's photos. It's often interesting to hear the perspective from someone who was there and it feels like sometimes I'm much better at taking photographs 📸 than telling the little details of the stories they capture. 🤔 The funny thing is, I love to write, but don't allow myself the time to do it. I have to remind myself to...

Let me reintroduce myself! 🎤

👩🏻‍🎨 I'll start by admitting I'm a multi-passionate creative. I can't help but play with anything visual, whether it be photography, designing greeting cards, piecing together an intricate quilt design, or trying my hand at graphic design. It started as a child and I've never tried to silence that craving for artistic things. It's my outlet. 📷 💌 ✂️ ✏️ 👩🏻‍💻

Our oldest graduated from high school this spring!

I'm an Enneagram 9w1...INFJ, according to personality tests, an empath. I savor quiet alone time & spend quite a bit of time observing, thinking things through (especially when it comes to time management & efficiency), planning my next project/creative adventure and working on personal development things. (Yes, I'm my own project!) Learning and improving is a basic need for me.

I'm definitely introverted, but can carry on a conversation just fine. 😂

💌 I have a second business, an online greeting card/stationery shop, called that evolved from a love for creating greeting cards with a minimalist design and spreading simple kindness.

📚We began homeschooling our two youngest when the pandemic hit and are still at it. It's something I said I could never do. I guess I ate my own words. It's been a learning experience, but my planning skills have come in handy and we're at a point now where we feel more confident in it all. One year at a time.

❤️ Children are my favorite photography subjects. They're so great at unabashedly doing life!

I hope you're finding something to smile about as summer whisks by. Simple flowers caused this sweet smile earlier this summer during a front porch session (using a long zoom lens). Often, it's by focusing on the little things in life that we find the most joy.
