The word of the day is juxtaposition--an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, especially for comparison or contrast.
This world has such amazing beauty, and yet we still harbor within us such ugliness and depravity.
We started our trip in the Swiss Alps, seeing the majesty of the mountains, lakes, and small villages there. We ended our trip walking through the Dachau Memorial Camp learning about the cruelty and torture that humans can deal out to our fellow humans.

During this time, she captured thousands of street photography images of the people living there. Meier worked as a nanny, caring for the children of wealthy families in Chicago. I love going to the beach: the salty tang of the wind blowing inland across the ocean, the sound of the surf as it washes onto the sand, the feel of floating in the ocean as the waves rise and fall, and even the oven hot sand as you walk back to the place where you are staying.
