📣 AS OF DECEMBER 2024, WE HAVE OFFICIALLY RETIRED OUR PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS.
——————————————————
18 years and it’s time to say goodbye 👋🏻❤️
Here’s just an excerpt from the full story of how God started, guided, and is bringing our Photography Business to a close in 2024…
——————————————————
Over the past few years, we have experienced quite a few changes in our family life. Our children entered the elementary school phase, Sam lost his father to cancer, we moved out of the home we bought as newlyweds 10 years prior, and we’ve taken on a difficult journey with Alzheimers to “care for the widow” (1 Tim. 5:3-4)
With all these changes, we knew God had some other changes coming for us. We didn’t know what, but we knew that we trusted His plan above all else. So for a year and a half, we prayed, “You know us better than we know ourselves, we want whatever You have for us.” Looking back, we can see how God moved in some WOW ways behind the scenes, while we were praying for those 18 months (if we ever cross paths someday, you should ask me about it!)
I can honestly say though, I did NOT know that prayer would mean I’d be saying goodbye to an 18 year photography career that has blessed my family in more ways than I can count. But I can’t even describe the peace that washed over me that day, when God revealed what our family’s next steps are. And while, we will be taking some time to rest & recover from all the things life has thrown at us these past few years, we are beyond excited to share that Sam & I have plans to start a new family business together, later in the year 2025.
While I won’t miss the endless hours of editing 💻 working 12 hour wedding days with only one meal and one bathroom break 🤪 and the agony of arthritis that I’ve developed over this career…I WILL absolutely miss our wedding couples and being able to help their days run smoothly from beginning to end. It has warmed my heart, year after year, to hear how much our bride & grooms love their photos and still flip through their albums on anniversaries. And I’ll never forget the times that our couples had tears in their eyes as they watched the slideshow of wedding photos we would show them that night at their reception 🥲
It has been a true honor to capture each & every photo for our clients these past 18 years 📸 As we wrap up album designs and close out December, our final month in business, we ask God to bless ALL of our clients with His generous love & faithfulness 🙏🏻
We have seen that “generous love & faithfulness” in our business time & again, and if you're interested, the full story is in the comments below ❤️
