Another round of late night painting. Worked on 3 different techniques tonight: swipe, dirty pour, and the Dutch pour. I made the white paint a little too thin in the last 2 paintings, leading to some running and blank spots. But you never know, sometimes 'happy little accidents' can lead to beautiful results. ☺ We'll see how they look once they are dry with a couple layers of clear coat.

Enjoyed the afternoon at Heberling Sunflower Fields yesterday. The sunflowers were so beautiful and had many places for photo opportunities. If you haven't had the chance to go, you should definitely stop out soon! For a small fee, not only are you supporting a family farm, but you are also supporting different groups and nonprofits in our local community. Check out their page for more info.

This photo was taken in May 2016 in the late afternoon with the sun high in the sky. The morning's fog had burned away and all that was left was sunshine. Proving that no matter how gloomy a day may start, with just a little patience, the whole scene can change.

This photo was taken in May 2016 on a wet, foggy, and overcast morning. Most images you see of this incredibly beautiful landmark are bright and sunny, but that is not always the seasonal norm. Capturing a moment that was true to it's typical, everyday atmosphere was the objective.
