When the toys are packed away and the house is quiet again this is the love that remains.

Every family session I always take a few moments for just mom and dad 🫣 I know I say embrace the chaos all the time but finding your roots is also so important.

Because one day, when you look back at your family photos, I don’t want you to only see the chaos and the beautiful mess of raising little humans…
I want you to feel the love that started it all. ❤️

It’s so easy to get lost in the season of snacks, taxi service, and schedules but these photos remind you that before you were “mom and dad,” you were two people who chose each other.

That love is the foundation your family was built on and it deserves to be documented too.

The chaos is beautiful, but so is the calm between just the two of you. I’m here to tell your story and that begins with two people madly in love, don’t lose that ❤️

I don’t JUST take wedding photos I notice 👀
The way his hands shake when he finally sees you.
The moment your dad exhales after holding it together all morning but cracks a little putting your mothers necklace on you 🥹

The messy, beautiful, perfectly imperfect story that unfolds when you stop trying to make everything “picture-perfect.”

Because someday, these photos won’t just remind you of how it looked they’ll remind you how it felt.

If all I do on this earth is make you feel again I’d die happy. ❤️

Did you totally forget to book your fall photos? 🫣

Same. This season gets crazy fast…school events, sports, fall break sneaking up… life happens!

But here’s the good news 🙌 southern Utah takes its sweet time changing seasons 🍁

So you’re not too late! I’ve got 2 weekend dates in November and 3 weekday spots left in October. Let’s make this the year you finally get in front of the camera. ❤️

Oh, and fall photos? Not just for families with littles. Couples, friends, and solo portraits deserve love too. 🙌

There are no words big enough for the honor of being let into moments like this. Baby Shumway is already surrounded by so much love, and as a mom I know the weight of letting someone into this part of your life. Thank you for letting me be a secret keeper, working with me is more than just photos.

Here’s a glimpse into my life outside of the pretty pictures. When I say embrace the chaos I know what it’s like from experience. This is what really looks like as a mom 👀

Between workouts, grocery runs, school deadlines, being mom, and running a photography business… it’s a juggling act.

And here’s the truth: when I give my full focus to one area, something else naturally falls to the side. That’s not failure it’s just life as a busy mom learning to manage priorities.

✨ I’m beyond blessed to live such a full life, but let’s be real it doesn’t mean I’m not tired.

Here are 4 ways I keep myself from laying on the floor and giving up by Tuesday….and maybe they’ll help you too

1️⃣ Prioritize daily, not forever. Pick the top 3 things for the day instead of trying to do it all.
2️⃣ Set boundaries. If it’s not aligned with your season or goals, it’s a “no.” (This one’s the hardest)
3️⃣ Batch the chaos. Group errands, meal prep, or editing into focused blocks of time.
4️⃣ Rest without guilt. Sleep, stretch, or just sit with your kids. Rest is part of productivity. It’s ok to ask for help.

What a blessing it is to be tired from all the things I once dreamed about ❤️

The secret to happy kids in family photos? 👇

As both a photographer and a mom, I’ve learned it’s less about perfection and more about preparation. Here’s how I handle it.

1- Let them be wild and free. This is your time to join them in the fun 🙌

2- THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT DO NOT BRING THEM IN THE OUTFIT YOU WANT PICTURES IN❗️

3- Let them be little, bring their stuffy. I brought my daughters “mow mow” and it was the last time I have pictures of her with it when she still didn’t call her Minnie. You will cherish it 💖

Imagine this…☁️

You pack up your car with your kids, toys, snacks, backup outfits and you get to your photo session and they’re a stage 10 clinger.

This is so common. Fear not. I hear it all the time during family photos “they’re too clingy”.

But one day, you’ll wish they’d climb into your lap again. Moms with older kids tell me all the time they’d give anything for just one photo where their child is wrapped around them, holding tight like they used to 🥹

Embrace the season you’re in. If your little one only wants to be in your arms, let’s capture that. Because one day, these will be the photos you treasure most and one day when they’re grown you’ll be telling me you just want one good hug for a photo. ❤️

Scroll through my feed and you will see kids in all stages of life. Teenagers jumping off red rocks to toddlers snuggling mama and baby hands curled around dad’s one finger so tight. Soak it in before it goes. Babies don’t keep 💕
