Officially embracing all things fall. Admittedly, it took me longer than most to get in the pumpkin spice, cozy sweater mindset, but I have arrived, and visiting the farm with this family is what did it. It helped me remember that with the change in season comes a new color palette, which I think all photographers can appreciate after editing what feels like endless summer sessions. Also, pulling out the sweatshirts and sweatpants have helped 😆

Crossing my fingers we can get some rain free days these the next few weeks, this weather has really messing with all of my fall fun. Thank you to the families that have been so flexible with getting rescheduled. Today I’ll be day dreaming of crisp afternoons at the apple orchard, like this one with Stef Heitz Hayes!

A gallery as bright and fun as the family in it!
This is my third year photographing the Saltonstall family, and every year it is pure chaos in the absolute best way. And honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way. My goal is to never tame the chaos, but to capture it. The infectious laughter, the joy, the vibrancy, the quirkiness, and all the moments in between that make this family so much fun to photograph. If I was able to capture even an ounce of the joy and energy that makes this family them, then I’m happy.

Wanna see me absolutely lose it? Evidently all it takes is a reflection of sunset in a window. It’s the little things, am I right? I RAN to post this session right after sending the gallery. Some sessions just hit different. I can’t wait to meet their little one at their newborn session!

I’ve noticed something about all of the families I’ve done photos with this year. Families are going with the flow. They are showing up ready to play. They are trusting the process. They aren’t stressing about everyone looking and smiling all the time. They aren’t fussing over clothes and hair. They are staying in the moment and truly enjoying each other’s company. Not to say I haven’t had many families like this over the years, but this year it feels so consistent and I am so grateful.

Pretty damn cool to photograph a friends love story
