I was surprised with how well my little makeshift studio came together. I ordered a backdrop, gathered all the sources of directional lighting I could find, spent a good hour testing different positions and doing test photos on myself first (one of which became my new headshot for work!), and finally found use for the wireless connectivity settings on my camera. I was able to connect it to my PC, giving both me and our portrait subjects the ability to see each photo on a large screen after it was taken. I'm very proud of Rosemary's photos, especially without owning professional studio lighting equipment. Thank you Rosemary for trusting me with your new headshots!

// Earlier this year, we did a studio session with a couple of friends looking for new headshots for theater auditions. With only one Canon Speedlight, Sandra and I got creative and used a whole array of artificial lighting (panel lights, a ring light, and even a work light from the garage), turning my office into a temporary studio. We're thrilled with the results from our first ever home studio session!

This was taken just after my new (used) Canon R5 arrived, and it was my first time testing it out. I couldn't believe my luck finding such awesome subject matter the first time I had the camera out. I wish I could find these guys so I could send them their photos!

This photo was taken during one of my Monday night cruises on The Island Queen (I was the musical entertainment every Monday for the dinner cruise most of the Summer).

I haven't posted in months, but not for lack of content. I've been out shooting and enjoying the lovely weather, as well as juggling so many different things at once. It was probably the busiest Summer of my life and as great as it was, I'm looking forward to slowing down a bit to enjoy what looks to be a spectacular fall!
