dear august,
don’t go.
my garden is overgrown and the tomatoes are ripe.
lake michigan is everything and fishing is life.
every field of queen anne’s lace beckons me to pull over and there is a shift in the air.
the windows are back open and bedtime comes sooner.
so thankful for this beautiful season and the summer that my son was five 🫶🏼

this was easily one of my favorite nights of the summer.
a creative project led me to the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club to capture the Thursday night sailing races.
I reached out to my husband’s uncle Ben because I knew he could help me with details and timing to catch the boats leaving the dock. In true Ben character and charm he said, I can do better than that!
I met him at the yacht club, he entered his beautiful commander into the race and gave me a birds eye view of competitive sailing for over two hours.
a once in a lifetime experience.

When I returned to Door County after college and lived by myself for the first time in my life, I rented the best little summer cottage in Ephraim on Spruce Street.
It is still my favorite town to wander and take pictures.
