Dixon Police and Fire departments search for a male suspect who police say jumped over the Peoria Avenue bridge into the Rock River.

A situation conspired in Dixon, Illinois, resulting in a suspect, jumping from a bridge into the Rock River. Fire Crews from multiple cities responded with their search and rescue boats. After 12 hours of searching, they called off the search and was unable to locate the male that jumped into the river.

Here the Oregon Fire is searching utilizing one of their boats.

At 06:40am February 11th, Dixon City Fire, Dixon Rural Fire, and Advance EMS were ispatched for a structure fire at 920 W. 4th St. in Dixon.

Upon arrival on scene crews observed smoke showing from the eaves and attic space of the 2-story residence. Crews were advised that all occupants had made it out of the residence, however there was a dog still inside. Crews immediately initiated fire attack and rescued the dog from the structure. Crews conducted a search of the residence and performed vertical ventilation. The incident was brought under control at approximately 0711 hours. There were no injuries reported. The cause was determined to be from an electrical space heater.
