I am incredibly honored to be nominated for 2023 Citizen of the Year. There are so many wonderful, deserving candidates, I am happy to share the stage with!
Someone asked me yesterday at the Discovery Bay Lions Club Christmas dinner, what was the last thing I volunteered for?
I didn't know how to answer that.... the wise man named Bryon sitting next to me responded perfectly, he simply said, "in a roundabout way she volunteers for everything that is going on!"
I laughed and said yes exactly. Whether it is designing a flyer for a coming event or photographing the event on the ground or via drone or welcoming you to a meeting or sending out a newsletter, or social media post to keep everyone informed or picking up after the event, or just simply attending the event with my family, I am pretty heavily involved in this community.
I opened my heart to this community many years back and the community opened its heart to me. So, for that I thank you! I am just honored to be recognized amongst some of my great friends and fellow community members. Good Luck to everyone nominated!

The community longed for this restaurant for a very long time. All they wanted was to be able to sit and enjoy good food and drinks with a water view. It took much longer than expected to renovate as it was in disarray. We invested a lot of time and hard work, and in the end, it has become an asset....
