So I have been a little absent, on social media and with my business, and there is a reason for that. I'd like to share a little of what has been happening, who this woman is and why she has been a huge part of my life.
I am pregnant, which in any circumstance would be a huge blessing, a great gift, a miracle. In our case, this is seen as ominous. I am RH- and normally, this isnt as big of a deal as the doctors make it out to be, it's my bloodtype and *most* people carry both the + & - bloodtyping. Well, in our case that is not the truth, my husband is what is called "double +" he carries no negative bloodtyping whatsoever. So our children will always be a dominant + bt. In this case, my body will always try to attack the baby.
I had an entire roller coaster of emotions when we found out we were pregnant. The excitement, the fears, the unknowns. Immediately I did everything I could, getting ahold of doctors and making plans.
We had a plan in place, which took weeks, and felt like an eternity. We found out at 8w, and by 13w we had a plan. I was to start infusions, of an immunotherapy treatment called IVig - intravenous immunoglobulin - the studies are so new, so unknowns of the specifics. The understanding was it was going to "scramble" my antibodies to protect the baby. So we said, Yes, let's do it. 🙏
Fast forward to this woman I took I picture of. She is a Godsend and I am so grateful we were put on each other's paths. She is my in-home nurse. She is at my house every week for 12 hours, living with us in our chaos and crazy. Hooking me up to an IV and reading stories to my children. Getting me food, and making homemade electrolyte drinks. The conversations, to the consoling, her presence has been amazing to say the least. My children ADORE her and harrass her a bit 😅 She has been an amazing addition to our family, because she is a part of our family. Her name is Diana. 💓
