Sundays wedding hosted the sweetest little guests. These wildflower fairies gathered the last of the flower girls petals in order to create a special petal shower for the bride and groom. They then frolicked in the meadow for a moment before revealing the cutest picnic they had set up for the happy couple from their cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres. So creative and fun! Made for very special memories and photos!

Today is a special day as it is our 3rd elopement anniversary and Caleb’s parents 40th wedding anniversary! It was a total coincidence that we picked their same date but we love sharing it because it feels extra special. The four of us celebrated their 40th in Italy, hiking together across mountains, eating all of the pistachio croissants I could get my hands on, and sitting seaside by the warm Mediterranean. It might have been Italy or I may be feeling extra sentimental as Caleb is now off working a job in Alaska, but I have never felt so in love as I do now with this handsome mountain man. I am always telling people how important photographs are. They capture meaningful moments and special stories to return to and cherish for years after they are taken. The past two weeks I was reminded of this myself as I rummaged through hard drives looking for photos of my uncle. He was a man who was always a constant in my life. My dads best friend since he was 4 years old. He was a quiet and kind soul whose witty humor made us all laugh around the dinner table. Growing up, he shared fried okra and cookies with me every Sunday. When needed, he was usually found napping and snoring loudly on grandma’s living room floor or sitting on the porch sipping coffee with my dad. In 2020, I had the honor of photographing one of my cousins wedding days. Within her gallery I found a few candid and posed photos of our beloved uncle that I will cherish for forever. We know that you are in heaven with Jesus, but our hearts are filled with sadness at the loss of your physical presence in our lives.

It’s officially proposal season! Winter is a popular time for couples to get engaged, especially when visiting our snowy mountains with their magical holiday allure. Daniel proposed to Alexandria while on a horse drawn sleigh ride in Breckenridge, Colorado. She said yes and the two enjoyed popping champagne and playing in the snow to celebrate!

Rain on your elopement day? This past summer was the rainiest that I can remember. Colorado 100% needed it, but it sure made for some dicey weather and necessary back up planning at times! Whether rain or shine, I encourage couples to embrace everything that the day brings. Inclement weather does not have to be a disappointment but instead can add to the adventure and memories made on your day!
