I was so excited to finally capture one of the hawks we see all the time.

Even with my telephoto lens, I had to get within 10 feet of him to get this photo.

It was only AFTER I came home and looked closely at the photo that I noticed the blood on his beak and feet…I interrupted his lunch 😬

I’m lucky I didn’t lose an eye!

Got up extra early this morning to snag the best spot to take photos of the Hot air balloon festival in Medora,ND.
Got the spot.
Stood for an hour in the rain, wind and cold, only to have them cancel 30 minutes after the intended launch time🤦🏼‍♀️

Probably for the best…I had the wrong lens on my camera but didn’t want to risk losing my spot and walk back to the car and change it😂

Better luck next year!
