WORLD CHAMP THIS WEEK?

There is a chance Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli will clinch the 2026 World Drivers' Championship this weekend.

To do so:
* Kimi would have to win the race which would see him on 365 points
* George would have to finish no higher than 9th
* and Lewis no higher than 5th

MAX CHALLENGED

F1 driver Max Verstappen swapped his Red Bull for a Mercedes-AMG for the final round of the GT World Challenge Europe championship, a three-hour endurance race in PortimĂŁo, Portugal.

Whilst he wasn't on the podium, the #3 Team Verstappen Racing entry was fast. Max, who was behind the wheel for the final 45 minutes of the race, managed to climb from P24 to P9.

His thoughts? “Overall, we have had a decent weekend. Unfortunately, we made a mistake with the setup of the car in qualifying, which meant that the car was sparking a little bit too much for performance. So, we didn’t qualify where we should have qualified. We adjusted the setup for the race and we were a lot more competitive.”

A few days off and he'll be off to Austin for F1 action at COTA.

Nico Hulkenberg's daughter Noemi brought a smile to Ollie Bearman's face post race in Singapore a week back. He was walking back to the media pen after the race when Noemi spotted him and gladly high fived the Haas driver who will have a new teammate in 2027.

SINGAPORE'S HEAT TOOK ITS TOLL

Last weekend's Singapore GP was brutal on all drivers. In fact Lewis Hamilton, seen here just prior to the race start, had to go to the medical centre straight after the race and was excused from his duties in the media pen.

I have since been informed that he was seriously dehydrated after the race and had to lie down on the ground for a period before going to the medical centre.

Singapore was the second race in a row run in stiffling heat and humidity and it certainly took it's toll on the Ferrari driver.

Franco Colapinto addressed his 6 million followers in an Instagram video, explaining his decision to take a break from social media after repeated issues arose from people claiming to be fans of the Argentine driver and sending abuse to other drivers, his team members and crew, and even his management.

The Qatar GP is set to go ahead at the end of November; however, fresh strikes in Saudi Arabia have raised the alarm due to the strikes' proximity to the Lusail Circuit. But despite being a small distance away, a body of water and a whole other country separate the track from the Aramco facility that was attacked. F1 is determined to finish its season in the Middle East, but will not make a call on any changes until very late.

Rafael Camara will join the grid next year as F1's newest rookie, replacing Esteban Ocon at Haas. He will partner Ollie Bearman who is not only a Ferrari Junior Team driver, but also the exact same age as him - only three days separate the drivers!

The 21-year-old Brazilian is already a Formula 3 champion, currently leads the 2026 Formula 2 Championship, and has impressed Haas during testing.
