✨🚘🅿️Key Directions and Parking Advice:
The Forest Theatre is located on the UNC campus at 123 S. Boundary St, Chapel Hill, NC, situated at the corner of Country Club Road and South Boundary Street. The best way to reach it is by driving to the intersection of Country Club Road and Boundary Street, where entrance is at the top of the theater, near the Battle Park area.

* From Downtown Chapel Hill (Franklin St): Take Columbia St into campus, turn left onto Cameron Ave, which splits into Battle Ave and Country Club Rd, where the theater is located.
* From I-40: Take Exit 273 (Hwy 54) toward Chapel Hill, drive ~5 miles, then turn right onto Country Club Road.
* Parking: Do not park in the small gravel lot immediately behind the theatre (reserved for actors/handicap access). Use street parking on Country Club Road or nearby campus parking, which is usually free on evenings and weekends.

This shoot with was my first shoot back since my knee surgery and it was such a beautiful, reaffirming experience and reminded me why I love photography so much.
Camille wanted to honor her late grandmother and take photos at the place where she and her entire family spent so much time growing, laughing, living. The energy of the house was so peaceful and I was honored to be invited over to shoot. I could literally feel the generations of these beautiful Black people and the remnants of their story. When we were shooting on her grandmothers porch, where Camille spent so much time growing and being, a beam of purple light came down directly on her. It felt like it was her grandmother and when I showed her on the camera, she confirmed. The purple beam went away after we were done and It was honestly one of the most beautiful moments I’ve had while shooting. I am honored to have captured such a sacred ancestral moment. These moments happen all around us everyday and we may not notice them but when they are captured for us to hold forever it is such a special thing. 💜
