When I hike, I look at everything around me. Sometimes it's as simple as a tree. But this tree and how the bark peeled away leaving these unique markings really stuck out.

Some lighthouses are only visible from across a canal. There are no roads leading to this light. My hope is that someday...

Some lighthouses are only visible from across a canal. There are no roads leading to this light.

My hope is that someday all Michigan lighthouses will be available to the public. These historical structures deserve to be preserved and enjoyed by Michiganders. In the meantime, I will take what I can get!

I really enjoy slowing down and taking images of the small things. It reminds me to focus on something and drown out all the noise. What do you do to slow down?

Detroit is pretty amazing as it is. But when you stop to admire the architecture, that's where it shines!

I wouldn't recommend it for everyone but for those who do choose to make the attempt; sturdy, waterproofed shoes with good tread are best 🥾
