Such a wonderful experience working with IdeaWorks Design & Print Studio!

Here's a peek behind the scenes of a branding project that I just completed for a new client!

Actually, this client isn't really new to me -- I designed a logo for him almost 15 years ago when I lived in Michigan and he owned a different company. We recently reconnected via LinkedIn, he was venturing into a new industry, and well...thank you Zoom and email for making it easy to collaborate across state lines!

As with all branding projects, this one started with a Brand Discovery Questionnaire and intake call where we delved into details about the market, competition, audience, etc.

From there, I gathered inspiration and created a Moodboard to give me creative direction in keeping with the defined goals. (Easy to do when your client is a spectacular photographer with a strong sense of style!)

And then of course, the sketches. My lens isn't wide enough to capture the pages of sketches here, but there are A LOT. EVERYTHING starts with pen and paper before it heads to the computer to be tweaked, tweaked and tweaked some more!

Look for the unveiling of the finished logo on Friday!

Thankful for the opportunity to take part in a Mad Max themed photo shoot at Gladwin Auto Salvage and Sales in Gladwin, MI this past weekend.

Thank you to the owners of Gladwin Auto Salvage and Sales for allowing us access to your property to capture these amazing images.

Thank you to Kellie Prowse Photography for her vision for this themed shoot and the opportunity to work with her and the talented Alicia Erickson Photography.

Lastly, a huge thank you and shout out to our models who worked in the very hot and bright midday sun, in the dust, and with the mosquitos. You made the process fun.

I got my first camera when I was a sophomore in high school. I didn't really know how to use it properly, but the process of composing and taking images always brought me a certain amount of peace and joy. My passion for the art form has only grown in the decades that have passed.

I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for the people who have encouraged me to share my work publicly. In spite of my love for photography, I never really considered myself to be a creative person. For the most part, I have kept my work to myself. Over the last several years I have invested in myself and have worked hard to improve my craft and along the way I have met so many incredible creative talents who have inspired me to keep learning and growing in this creative space.

I look forward to connecting with you and hopefully sharing images that bring you, the viewer, as much joy as I receive capturing them.
