Freaky Friday!

I call the worm like creature an Aphid Eater, in front of it is an Aphid that has been eaten. The aphid eater is the larval form of a Hoverfly. They can't see, so they find their food by bumping into it and then latching on with hook-like mouth parts, then suck all of the liquid out of their prey leaving behind an empty shell as you see here in the photo.

In Spring and Fall, Boxelder bugs like to gather in large clusters on the warm, south- and west-facing sides of homes and buildings. Though they are harmless, they do get pretty annoying, especially if they find their way inside. This photo is from Spring and I do expect to start seeing them again soon as the temperatures start to get cooler.

A tiny Crab Spider hiding in the folds of a Marigold flower. I have heard that these spiders are able to change their color to camouflage themselves. I’ve only really seen green and white/yellow ones, so maybe this one is able to become orange since it’s on an orange flower? Or maybe the white color is just picking up the reflection of the orange flower.
