If your studio shots keep coming out dark and then light when you shoot back to back, there’s one thing about your flash that almost nobody explains.

It’s called recycle time. It’s how long your flash needs before it’s ready to take another shot, and the higher your power is, the longer it takes. It’s even slower with the more inexpensive lights. Once you understand that, you can finally stop getting some shots dark and some shots light.
