My number one tip for a smooth, enjoyable, and more memorable wedding day: do the first look.

Most people think a first look is just about deciding if you want to see each other at the ceremony or not… but there are so many other factors that should go into that decision.

A first look gives you more time together on your big day, more photos together and more unique and fun images, less stress during and after the ceremony, more time at your reception, a happier bridal party, more relaxed time together with family, and and an extra special memory from the day. You are earlier in the day so hair and makeup is fresher, and you feel your best! You will feel more calm and refreshed after so you can fully enjoy the ceremony without that photo “to-do” list looming over you.

When do I suggest to NOT do a first look? 1. When you have a daylight ceremony and it’s still daylight before the reception. 2. When you have a cocktail hour with set portrait time. 3. Maybe if you have a 3.5 or 4 hour reception and don’t mind losing 30 minutes to portraits.

So tell me… Are you team first look or no?

Throwing it back to 2019 to celebrate our Surrogate (gestational carrier) HALEY! 🤰

Our son is turning ONE, and he wouldn’t be here without our past bride Haley that so generously offered to carry our boy safely for nine months. Haley is the kindest soul, so funny, brave and giving (with the perfect dash of sass added in for good measure.) His birth was perfect and beautiful and I’m so glad Haley allowed us to be in the room to witness every moment. She is a true gift to our lives and I’m so glad she’s still celebrating with us SEVEN YEARS after her first wedding inquiry email was sent our way. 🥹🥹🥹
