It’s beautiful and messy, exhausting and full of love all at the same time.

It’s the early mornings, the late nights, the moments in between that no one else sees.

I want to capture that.

Five years of pure magic. Of love that doesn’t need words.
Five years of your hand finally reaching for mine,
of hugs and kisses that felt impossible until they weren’t.
Every moment, a milestone.
Every milestone, a victory.

My boy who lights up the room with his smile,
who loves Lightning McQueen and Olaf,
who wants to make everyone laugh, because joy is your language.

You are proof that love isn’t spoken, it’s felt.

Even on days like this, when you’re not feeling your best,
you remind me how big the little things really are.
Being your mom is one of my life’s greatest joys.

I'm in the middle of How Too with Rachel Larson Weaver, and one of exercises was distilling our work down to three words. The ones that surfaced for me: authentic, warm, storytelling.

I want my art to feel like truth, unpolished and real, holding space for both the beauty and the mess. I want it to carry warmth, not just in light and color but in the way it makes people feel, held, seen, understood. And I want it to tell stories, not just through images but through feeling, through the quiet in-between moments that speak louder than words.

This class gave me the pause, a chance to reflect, to listen, and to remember why I pick up my camera in the first place.

Stepping away from photography was something I needed—giving myself space to breathe and reconnect.

But in the quiet, I’m finding myself again—woven into the ordinary, the unspoken poetry of the now.

There’s a nostalgia in the present, in the moments that will one day ache with longing. I’m learning to see them as they unfold, not just as memories waiting to be framed, but as life happening, right here, right now.

Jess’s smile is constant, full of warmth that instantly puts her children and those around her at ease.

It’s incredible to witness how naturally she moves through moments with them, fully present and attentive, as if nothing else matters.

In that short time, you can see how deeply attuned she is to her children’s needs—offering a soft word, a playful laugh, or a gentle hug at exactly the right moment.

What stands out the most is the effortless love that fills the room. Her kids are completely at ease around her, knowing she’s always there, ready to listen, guide, and comfort. It’s not just in the big gestures, but in the small, everyday moments—how she looks at them, how she reaches out to hold them close.

In the hour I spend with them, it’s clear that Jess creates a world for her children where love is ever-present and unspoken understanding flows naturally between them.
