Capturing authentic moments is my greatest joy. Those candid unprompted instances happen when no one knows I’m documenting them. From parents beaming at their adult-child’s vows to tender hugs after emotional speeches, quick kisses right after grand entrances, and stolen shots during private vows, the Haase-Thede family created countless unforgettable memories this past Saturday.

Though Jenna and Walker hail from towns just 45 minutes apart, they chose for their wedding celebration. They lived in Ankeny for a while, where they deepened their love and faith with each other before eventually settling back into a home closer to their families. The venue featured pops of color scattered throughout the white walls, adding vibrancy to the occasion and the lit candles added a touch of elegance.

It was truly an honor to capture the laughter, love, faith, and tears shared by all on Saturday.

Vanessa + Mitch. Part 1

Saturday felt like a deep breath — easy, full, and so genuinely them. Eucalyptus and babies breath on every table, floating candles casting that soft golden light. Before the ceremony, Nash, V&M's black lab, got his own first look — tail wagging before he even saw them.

Then Mitch.

He had a feeling he knew which dress she’d choose, but the moment he actually saw her, the awe on his face said everything words couldn’t.

Bob seeing his daughter in her gown for the first time set the tone for everything that followed. The kind of moment that reminds you why days like that matter. And by the time Vanessa's twin sister finished her speech, there wasn’t a dry eye in the reception room, mine included.

What a day to witness.

Somewhere right now there's a mama sitting in a dark room at 3am, baby finally asleep on her chest, scrolling through her phone just to feel like the rest of the world still exists.

She hasn't showered. She can't remember what day it is.

And she knows, somewhere in the back of her exhausted mind, that this is going by too fast. That she's going to forget the weight of him. the way he curls into her. The way his whole face fits in the palm of her hand.

She hasn't had a single second to think about photos.

That's exactly who I do this for.
