I will be performing in my studio for Mainframe’s First Friday! Studio 339, 5-7 PM.

Title: 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵
Audience instructions: “Look at me through the camera. Drape the black cloth over your head.”

About the work: Influenced by her experience as a figure drawing model, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 invites viewers to look at the artist through the ground glass of a large-format view camera, blurring the boundaries between observation, performance and representation.

I hope to have my first experimental scores written and bound by the end of this year. I’m keeping most of this under wraps until then, but I want you to know I haven’t stopped creating amid the horrors of the world.

The Iowa Artist Career Accelerator Program is accepting applications! Deadline to apply is August 26, 11:59 PM.

Program benefits include an artist career development retreat in Marshalltown, peer-learning & support, individual mentorships, up to a $2500 grant to support your art career, and up to $500 reimbursement for attending the retreat.

Another benefit? You will get to work with me! I am excited to build upon the feedback of last year’s participants. (Last year was the pilot year! Cool, right?)
