Grandma and Grandpa surrounded by the life they built. Parents loving on the babies. Engagement with a whole new chapter ahead. High fives, belly laughs, bear hugs, a snack stash, and a whole lot of beautiful chaos.

Different generations. Different seasons of life. One big, beautiful story.

And let me just tell you, I know from experience that you won’t always have all the people in these images. Someday, these photos will mean more than you could ever imagine. Not because everyone was looking at the camera or smiling perfectly, but because you were all there. Together.

And goodness, what a beautiful gift it is to belong to each other.

Sadie + Jake. 🤎

After what felt like an entire September of rain, October finally showed off. An outdoor wedding, the kind of golden hour every autumn dream is made of, a whole lot of joy, and even a few magic tricks thrown in for good measure.

But my favorite part? How undeniably them this day was.

These two went from college classmates (where Sadie was NOT interested) to seven years of building a life together. Somewhere between sharing homework, cheering each other on from the sidelines, and making each other laugh, they found their person.

And I think that’s what I love most about a wedding day. Not the perfectly planned details or even the dreamy October light (although, COME ON). It’s watching two people celebrate a love where they get to be completely, unapologetically themselves.

The kind of love that feels easy. The kind where there’s always something to laugh about. The kind that just feels like us.

Sadie + Jake, what a joy it was to document your day. The laughter, the people, the magic, and that little bit of October sunshine that felt like it was saving itself just for you.

Some wedding days feel like a celebration of everything that’s ahead. And some carry the weight and beauty of everything it took to get there.

Cam + Anna’s was both.

There were tears of joy and so much laughter. Hands lifted in worship. Heads bowed in prayer. People gathered around them, grateful not only for the love they’ve found in one another, but for the lives they’ve been given to live.

Because there were years when a day like this wasn’t promised. When neither of them could have known all that was waiting on the other side.

And yet, here they were.

Standing together. Surrounded by people who love them. Worshipping the God who carried them. Laughing until they cried and crying because there was simply too much goodness not to.

A wedding day full of evidence that life is a gift, love is worth celebrating, and sometimes the most beautiful joy is the kind that knows exactly how precious it is.

Thomas + Bridget’s wedding day was filled with so much joy, and one of the sweetest parts was watching their families surround them with love. From happy tears to endless laughter, it felt like two families becoming one.

Bridget loves that she can be completely herself around Thomas. He makes her feel comfortable and confident, and somehow always knows how to make her smile.

Thomas loves telling anyone who will listen about Bridget. She’s sweet, smart, sassy, endlessly competitive, and always ready to try a new recipe.

The way they build each other up, laugh together, and genuinely enjoy one another is what makes their love so magnetic. It’s playful. It’s romantic. And it’s the kind of love that makes everyone around them believe in forever.

// Reach out to your photographer during your pregnancy, around the second trimester. I like to get your due date on my calendar and then we’ll solidify a specific date and time once babe arrives.

// Dress is neutral or earthy tones. These colors are always the most timeless and photograph really well. Those soft, creamy, tones are the best!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
// Try to feed your baby shortly before your session. This way they’ll have a full tummy and hopefully be getting sleepy. However, babies are unpredictable, so if you have to feed them during that session that’s alright too. I’m a momma, so I understand the unpredictability, hormones, and all that newborn entails. We’ll just go with the flow of your babe.

// Babies typically photograph best swaddled or in a snug sleeper. This way they feel warm and cozy and allows me to slowly unwrap them so that we can see their little features such as fingers and toes.

// I like to photograph in your home wherever has the best natural light, typically the living room, nursery and/or master bedroom. Don’t feel like you need to clean your whole home, I’ve done sessions in one little corner and created beautiful images. Just trust your photographer with this one!

// Your photos are about your connection and savoring these moments with your baby. Relax and enjoy this time. I’ll give suggestions and help with posing in order to get the best angles, but more than anything I just want to give you time to breathe in these newborn days.
