Wanted to hop on here for a quick psa. If your session took place prior to January 1st, 2023, please make sure your gallery is downloaded to a safe device. Monday, December 11, 2023 all galleries that are December 31, 2022 and prior will be taken off my server to create more room for upcoming sessions. Celebrating Emily and Michael yesterday was a great way to spend a Saturday!

As Michael said “it’s so cheesy when you go to a wedding and the couple goes on about how their partner is their best friend… but Emily’s mine”. Getting to watch two best friends decide to spend the rest of their lives together was a beautiful thing. They were surrounded by their (rather large) family and friends and it truly made all the love in the air amplified!

Introducing Mrs and Mr Shianne & TJ Lindsay-West!

Yesterday was an incredible day filled with family, friends, beer burros, and the prettiest tiered cake I’ve ever seen!

Getting to help celebrate this marriage that’s been 10 years in the making was so special. Shianne and TJ wanted a laid back day with special touches that represented them, and they got just that! From the custom made shoes and tie gifted from the brides sister, to the family heirloom wedding ring, this day had so many details that were specific to the couple you couldn’t help but feel like the day was truly made for them.

Shianne & TJ- I wish you guys nothing but the absolute best on your adventures in New York! I can’t thank you enough for letting me celebrate your day with you, both on the clock and off! (I don’t stick around after my contract hours too often, but the MOH convinced me and I’m so glad she did!)🎉

Also have to give a quick venue shout out! Koru Aronia Berry Farm was so incredible to be at yesterday. The owners and staff are some of the best I’ve gotten the pleasure to work with and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding venue near the Amanas. They are booked for 2024 but have openings in 2025!!

Happy Monday✨

We have welcomed so many new friends to this page in the last year and I thought it time for a reintroduction for all the new faces!

Hey there👋🏼 I’m Emily- owner, office manager, photographer, and editor behind ELM Photography. I started photography my senior year of high school with my own senior photos and random photo sessions with some friends. It’s been a whirlwind of 6 years since and I have gotten the honor of capturing some of life’s biggest moments for my clients! My original plan was to turn ELM Photography into my fulltime job, but life always has other plans. 2 years ago while I was in the trenches of trying to get this page off the ground, a friend convinced me to apply to be a middle school Paraeducator. At the time I thought “no way, I hate kids. Not for me”, but something told me to apply anyway. Fast forward to today and I’ll be going into my 3rd year as a certified Paraeducator working at a wonderful school with some of the best teachers and students the state of Iowa has to offer! Paraeducator by day and photographer by evening! Both of my jobs bring me such an immense amount of joy and purpose and I’m so grateful for everyone that’s supported me in both!

This last season of life has brought many changes for me. I believe that marketing a business that is essentially you, your branding should match your current self. The absolutely wonderful Jess at Jessica Duggins Photography & Design helped me redesign my logo and Alaina Marie Photography did my branding photos. Can’t recommend these ladies enough! I am so so lucky to have met them both and am so thankful for their support and friendship!
