The first days of fall make me miss Colorado so bad! It’s great here in vegas, don’t get me wrong. And the minute it snows in Colorado I’ll be over here all like 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 not my problem! It’s hard to believe it’s been a year. I think a lot of us spent the first few months thinking “how do I turn away from this?” Or “how do I turn this off?”

Our city isn’t like most. You come here from all over the world, and expect us to be on our game. And we learned fast that we don’t overcome this by turning away from it. We have to turn into it. We have to make each other better every day and lean on each other as a community.

I drive by this site almost every day and every day I hear stories about people who were impacted. People I see once a week who I’m just now learning were there. Or had a friend or family member who was injured. People who go through life every day with a smile and make me happy to be their friend and co-worker. And it makes me think... how do you put on that brave face when the world has been so ugly to you?

But you know what? The lesson is the one that Vegas has been teaching us for decades - Vegas always wins. No matter the odds, whatever the wager - you can bet on this city. ♠️ ♦️ ♥️♣️
