I have always been fascinated with the moon and take quite a few photo of it. I like getting more than just the "orb" in the sky and am always chasing that perfect moonrise or moonset with landcape or trees in the foreground. I set my alarm for moonset Sunday morning and looked out the window and was disapointed to see a cloud layer on the horizon. I went out to try to get something anyway. I waited patiently hoping to get the moon setting across the ridgeline behind a group of trees. I was pleasantly surprised to see the sun light up the clouds above as the moon started to set. What started out as a potential disappointment turned into one of my favorite photos of the moon!

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

I was hiking the trail to Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park late in the afternoon and came across this scene. The high peak is Longs Peak, the only 14,000-foot peak within Rocky Mountain National Park. I had to wait several minutes for the light to break through the clouds and illuminate the mountains.

Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado

While I was teaching a floral & nature photography class for Denver Photography Group, we came across a pair of hummingbirds feeding. We adjusted our cameras to allow the increased shutter speed as necessary to capture the fast moving wings. This is one of the photos that I captured with my camera.
