There’s something so special about a wedding day that feels emotional, peaceful, and so so fun all at the same time and K + J’s day was exactly that!

These two built a wedding that felt so intentionally them. Elegant with western touches, surrounded by their favorite people, tucked into the mountains at Della Terra Mountain Chateau, and focused on what actually mattered most which was being present with each other.

One minute everyone was tearing up during the ceremony and the next everyone was laughing during the bubble tunnel over the bridge. By the end of the night we were running around outside in the snow taking portraits while everyone celebrated inside.

Honestly it was absolute magic!

One of my favorite things about this whole day was the way they went with everything the day gave as it rolled in. No stress over the weather changing, no pressure for things to feel “perfect,” just joy, trust, and soaking in every moment together. Those are always the weddings that end up feeling the most meaningful!

K & B didn’t just get engaged, they created something that felt beautifully them.

K planned a surprise proposal for B by recreating their very first date. What started as coffee, plant shopping, and a hike turned into something so much more this time around.

K proposed and then B paraglided down to a beautiful congratulations with their favorite people.

And if that somehow wasn’t already enough, they busted out their swing dancing skills, laughing, and celebrating in a way that felt so natural to who they are.

Every part of this day was intentional. Not performative, not traditional for the sake of it… just deeply rooted in their story, their connection, and the way they move through the world together.

Getting to document moments like this will never feel normal to me. It’s such an honor to be trusted with something so personal and to witness love that is this thoughtful and alive.

If you’re dreaming up something that feels a little different and a little more you, I would love to help you bring it to life!

This session worked because it actually felt like them.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about engagement photos is that they have to look a certain way to be meaningful. Perfect outfits, poses, and the perfect idea of romance. But the sessions that usually feel the strongest are the ones that leave room for personality.

This one had that in the best way.

It made it so playful, personal, and completely true to who they are together. And that’s why these images feel like they do. Not because everything was polished or traditional, but because it had real unique people. It had familiarity. It had room for them to settle in and be themselves.

That is always what I want for my couples. Photos that do not just look beautiful, but actually feel connected to your relationship and your life.

Your session doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be worth documenting beautifully. Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is let it reflect what you already love.

This your sign to make your session feel more like you.

Natural photos rarely happen because someone magically knows what to do in front of a camera.

They usually happen because people are given the space to settle in.

Most couples tell me some version of the same thing before their session. That they feel awkward. That they are not sure what to do with their hands. That they want their photos to look natural but have no idea how to make that happen. And honestly, that is so normal.

The good news is that natural does not come from being instantly comfortable. It comes from trust, good guidance, and giving yourselves a little time to stop thinking so hard about the camera.

That is why I care so much about helping couples choose a location that fits them, wear something they actually feel good in, and approach the session like an experience instead of a performance. Once that pressure starts to fall away, everything gets easier. The movement feels more natural. The connection feels more real. The photos start to look like you.

You do not need to be perfect at being photographed. You just need space to be yourselves.

Save this for the reminder that natural photos are not about doing everything right. They are about feeling comfortable enough to let go.

Le***an Visibility Day matters because being seen matters.

There is something incredibly powerful about being able to look at love like yours and recognize it fully. Not as something that needs to be explained, softened, or fit into someone else’s version of what love is supposed to look like, but as something beautiful, honest, and completely worthy of being celebrated exactly as it is.

That is part of why documenting le***an love means so much to me.

It is joyful and tender and real. It is quiet in some moments, loud in others, and always deserving of taking up space. It deserves to be seen in a way that feels true. Not filtered through expectation. Not made smaller for anyone else’s comfort. Just held with care and documented for what it already is.

For the couples living it, for the people still finding themselves, and for anyone who has ever needed the reminder that their love belongs here too, visibility matters.

Le***an love deserves to be seen, celebrated, and documented beautifully. Today and always.

Inclusive should mean more than a sentence on a website.

For me, it means creating a space where my couples do not have to translate themselves, shrink themselves, or wonder whether they will actually be understood once they are in front of my camera.

It means being intentional with language. It means not making assumptions. It means paying attention to how a day feels, not just how it looks. It means building an experience where people can show up fully as themselves and trust that they are safe, seen, and cared for.

That matters in every wedding and every session, but especially in an industry where not everyone has felt that kind of ease.

Beautiful photos come from trust. From comfort. From being able to breathe and just be in the moment together without feeling like you have to perform for the camera or fit into someone else’s expectations of what love is supposed to look like.

That is the kind of space I want to create every single time.

You deserve vendors who make you feel fully welcome from start to finish.

Garden of the Gods is stunning for a reason, but it is not just about the view.

Yes, the scenery is dramatic. Yes, it photographs beautifully. But what really matters is whether a location fits the kind of experience you want to have.

This spot can be incredible for couples who want striking Colorado scenery without a long hike, and it can be such a beautiful option for portraits, elopements, or intimate wedding moments. But it is also one of those places where timing matters a lot. Crowds, light, pace, and privacy can completely change how it feels.

That is something I think couples deserve to know when they are planning. A location can be gorgeous and still not be the right fit unless it supports the kind of day you actually want.

The best photos are never just about being somewhere beautiful. They come from being somewhere that lets you be present, comfortable, and connected while you are there.

Garden of the Gods can absolutely be that place. It just helps to approach it with intention.

Save this if Garden of the Gods is on your list and you want your photos to feel as good as they look!

Golden hour is lovely, but it is not the only thing that matters.

When couples are choosing between sunrise and sunset for their engagement photos or wedding portraits, the conversation usually starts with light. But honestly, the better question is how you want the experience to feel.

Do you want quiet trails, softer energy, and more privacy? Sunrise might be the better fit.

Do you want a slower start, warmer tones, and a more relaxed lead into the evening? Sunset might make more sense.

In Colorado, timing shapes so much more than the look of your photos. It affects crowds, wind, temperature, pacing, and how comfortable you actually feel in the moment. And all of that shows up in your images.

The best time is not always the trendiest one. It is the one that fits your location, your energy, and the kind of experience you want to have together.

That is always part of what I help my couples figure out, because beautiful photos start long before I ever pick up the camera.

Save this for later if you are trying to choose the right timing for your photos.

Not every wedding needs to feel big to feel unforgettable.

Some of the most meaningful days I have photographed have actually been the ones that felt the most intentional. Less pressure, less performance, less trying to make it into something for everyone else and more room to be fully present in what it actually was.

That is what I loved so much about this day.

It felt personal in all the best ways. Beautiful, yes, but also grounded. The kind of day that leaves space for real connection, quiet joy, and the little moments that end up meaning the most later.

I think that is one of my favorite things about intimate weddings. They remind you that a wedding does not have to be huge to be deeply moving. It just has to feel like you.

Save this for the reminder that your wedding does not need to be performative to be unforgettable.

K+G chose to turn their engagement session into a date night in Manitou Springs and it was the perfect reminder that your photos should feel like you. Cozy. Playful. Real.

If you’re planning a Colorado wedding and want engagement photos that feel more like an experience than a photoshoot, I’m your girl. I cannot wait to document their Three Peaks Ranch wedding later this year!
