I remember, years ago, looking at ‘s account and thinking “Yeah these photos are beautiful but where am I going to find a couple that will smooch in the rain in their wedding clothes?”

Last night, among lots of other more important dreams coming true, and helped me check that dream off my list. ✔️

Here’s to the happy couple and many more fun elopements, messy moments, and fun couples whose love lets them (figuratively and literally) dance in the rain!

If I’m being honest, it was a disturbingly short amount of time between meeting you and wanting to say “I love you.” 🤍

When I first talked to Lauren and Ryan about what they had in mind for their engagement session and wedding, I could tell it was going to be fun! It’s an honor to be able to capture a couple being who they are and doing what they do - like playing pickle ball 🙂

Oh to be 18 again, with a face so perfect even photographed this close.

Maybe that year you were wreaking havoc on Myrtle Beach, blasting Eminem the first time he said “guess who’s back”, able revel and bask in the fact that you knew almost nothing about where life would take you. Take me back.

It’s good to be a teenager and it’s hard and it’s always always my honor to capture a few memories of those magical sweet badasses before the moment has passed.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!

I’m so lucky to get to work with and see moms absolutely 💪handling💪 some of the most stressful and happiest and bittersweet seasons of life.
• learning the surprise dance to do at their son’s wedding
• raising kids who are nothing like the kids they thought they would have and finding out that they’re way better
• reading books about their particular brand of quirky child and giving the other adults in his life the Cliffs notes version
• partying like a rockstar at the reception even though they were up until 3am cleaning up the rehearsal dinner
• missing parts of the first birthday party because the birthday baby is still nursing
• toning down their mother of the bride dress because it’s *her* day
• smiling in the picture even though sweaty hair and a two year old is sticking to your neck

Every dance recital, birthday party, and school day is the triumph of a bunch of moms who Macgyvered a costume, texted the other moms, didn’t forget that it’s character day (this time), or finished lesson plans after putting their own kids to bed.

So I encourage you to take a load off today… but I know you won’t 😘

When our griefs are overlapping like they’re a herringbone pattern
I still get to be yours

As the bags beneath our eyes grow wrinkles at their side
I still get to be yours

When the kids we made are shouting When the dogs we bought are barking
When the baby goats are dying When the friend we lost is lying
When the country is on fire And the temperatures are climbing
Inflation getting higher
And our troubles all are rhyming
I still get to be yours.
